THE DOWN COMMUNITY CENTRE
'When we let evil win, it becomes our reality.' The Down Community Center is situated in a formerly abandoned school building near South Park and designed to serve locals with a variety of services both recreational and practical. It features a weekly market for essentials, spaces for gatherings, classes in various hobbies, as well as BDSM. A class for newcomers to Duplicity is highly encouraged and covers important information needed to get settled into the city; including places to acquire work and food for submissives, pitfalls to avoid and a brief history of events so that new LIERs know what to expect. The BDSM classes range from safewords and safety concerns, discussions on contracts, to best practices for negotiating personal boundaries and exploration of new kinks. More advanced classes are available which could include live demonstrations. The facility also offers regular self-defence classes of variant learning levels. Several of which Dick Grayson, the new director of the community centre teaches himself. Other facilities include gym equipment, training equipment, spaces designed for mingling and community organization efforts. Aside from the market, the centre benefits from donations and is always taking suggestions for classes and demonstrations people would like to see offered.
OFFERED CLASSESDUPLICITY ORIENTATION Run by Rotating Teacher Advertised as a secondary Orientation and a Guide to the City. The first-afternoon class runs exactly as stated. It is designed to help those who were too shellshocked during the original Orientation to properly take in the information. The second course is offered immediately after the first and talks to new arrivals about the things that Duplicity explicitly doesn't tell you. How the devices monitor you; what has been discovered about the DECEIT gene; where to best source resources; which stores will look the other way and those who try to exploit Submissives. FIRST AID CLASS - Run by Kyle Valenti Description of the class INTRODUCTION TO MODERN EARTH - Run by rotating instructor For many Duplicity is a culture shock of both information and vastly new technology. This class is designed to take people from different worlds through the newer technologies of the city; from the electronics in their homes to the device they're given upon entry into the city. INTRODUCTION TO SELF DEFENCE Everyone should be able to defend themselves in this city and so there are weekly lessons run at different levels for people to take part in. Classes are open to both Dominant and Submissive alike. This area is magically warded to keep Dominants from entering. It allows those who have been marked by the city a space where they can relax from the expectations of the rest of the City.
